F.A.Q:

What age group is good for Karate?

We take Students from 5 years old up to our oldest student at this time is 66 years old. but there are many Karate students in the UK training in their 90s. Age is not a barrier to training, as you learn a little at a time as your fitness improves. It is a great way to keep fit. as you learn new moves your muscles get stronger and if you are over weight you start to loose your fat and it is replaced by muscle without becoming muscle bound. You can move along at your own pace and capabilities this is one of the good thing about karate in a recognised club.

Is Shrewsbury Karate club part of a recognised body?

Yes ,Shrewsbury Karate club is part of EKF that is the governing  body for Karate in the UK and is recognised by the government. Frank and other instructors in the club are CRB checked.
All students, before they go for their  first grading will send for a EKF licence that covers them up to £2,000,000 public liability cover.

Are my grades recognised?

Yes there are 9 grades up to black belt, after which the students are encouraged to practice hard to achieve the coverted Black Belt.
